The Role

SGQ is seeking an experienced Pipe Layer to join the team in the Bundaberg area, supporting civil construction projects across the region.

This role is suited to someone with a minimum of 3 years’ pipelaying experience and strong capability across sewer, stormwater and water main installation.

Key Responsibilities

The Experienced Pipe Layer will be responsible for:

  • Laying sewer, stormwater and water mains with precision
  • Setting up and operating levels and pipe lasers
  • Reading, interpreting and applying construction plans and standards
  • Upholding and enforcing safe work procedures in deep trench environments
  • Supporting daily productivity targets
  • Maintaining quality workmanship and jobsite safety
  • Collaborating with the site team to support project success

What We’re Looking For

SGQ is looking for someone with:

  • Minimum 3 years’ pipelaying experience
  • Proven civil construction experience
  • Experience in pipelaying and pit-building for subdivisions and road projects
  • Experience across water mains, sewer mains and stormwater lines
  • Experience in deep excavation work using trench shoring and shields
  • Strong understanding of levels, laser setup and plan interpretation
  • Valid C Class driver’s licence
  • MR or HR licence desirable
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment

Desirable Qualifications

  • High Risk Work Licence — DG / Dogman
  • Confined Spaces competency
  • Quick-cut competency
