Salary: $170,000 – $190,000 + car + super, dependent on qualifications and experience

The Role

SGQ is seeking an experienced Construction Surveyor to join the team in Bundaberg, supporting civil infrastructure projects across the Bundaberg region and Greater Wide Bay.

This is a strategic and hands-on surveying role responsible for managing survey requirements on civil construction projects, supporting quality outcomes, meeting client expectations and helping deliver strong project results for SGQ.

Position Specific Duties

The Construction Surveyor will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with Contract Quality Representatives, Project Engineers and Project Managers on survey requirements
  • Generating conformance reports and reporting QA issues, non-conformances and rectification processes
  • Performing civil survey activities including as-built, monitoring and work-as-executed surveys
  • Conducting survey calculations and managing survey data
  • Using survey equipment and control systems, including Trimble machines and 12D software
  • Producing accurate volume and area reports from survey fieldwork
  • Analysing design plans to identify potential issues
  • Reviewing construction documents for client quality requirements, including survey records
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with client site representatives
  • Maintaining survey equipment, performing self-testing and arranging third-party calibration as required

Business Development & Innovation

The role includes staying informed on construction surveying innovations and recommending practical improvements that support SGQ’s project delivery.

You will also help apply project surveying systems, technology and equipment to support civil infrastructure projects and maintain strong working relationships with project staff and client representatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Preferred

  • Survey qualifications as required for registration with the Survey Board of Queensland
  • Experience on road construction projects and/or other transport infrastructure
  • Experience using 12D Model Software and Trimble Machine Control Systems
  • Ability to apply survey principles to civil infrastructure construction
  • Ability to investigate and report on non-conforming work
  • Computer literacy for generating, uploading and reporting survey activities
  • Queensland construction safety requirement / White Card
  • Current vehicle licence

Desirable

  • Exposure to Queensland Main Roads standards
  • Exposure to ISO Standards
