Project Updates

Eumundi Noosa Road Upgrade (Widening and Centerline Treatment)

Client: Transport and Main Roads

Receiving >1.2m of rain so far in 2025, the team persisted through wet conditions taking every opportunity to progress works within inches of practical completion. Section 1 asphalt works are complete, with the team working through final guardrail, landscape & line marking items.

In package 2, the team is currently commissioning lighting infrastructure and completing new wearing course asphalt, leaving only final guardrail, landscaping and line marking thereafter.

The project has received instructions to complete further scope items, with additional guardrail works and 2 x complete culvert replacements awarded. Opportunity remains for additional heavy pavement repairs to be rewarded.

Provision of the additional scope is a credit to the project team, with TMR recognising the success and value of the collaborative project model with the right partner. With some dry weather, works should reach practical completion by mid-May.

Energex: Access Tracks & Pads – Bells Creek

This project involves:

  • 7km of access tracks
  • 24,000m2 of structural pads
  • Install of 66 pile liners (1.2-2.4m) diameter, up to 11m deep

Our client is preparing to install their precast power poles within the steel liner voids installed by SGQ. The project links existing power supply at Meridan Plains to Caloundra South (Stockland’s new Aura community).

Project Update: The team kicked off 2025 with rapid pace, motoring through the pad and track construction across 3 separate crews.

Despite multiple floods through the northern section of works (adjacent to Mooloolah River), the team managed to complete the track and pad works with minimal setback. Piling works are underway while remaining pads and tracks near racecourse Rd and Bells Creek Arterial Rd are finalized.

Energex have awarded additional scope for SGQ including concrete backfill of the power poles, earthing and additional earthworks.

A Majority of the original scope is expected for completion late May (pending existing service clashes), with the variation scope expected to continue to provide works until September.

DRFA Pkg 2 (Disaster Recovery / Flood Resilience)

Client: Transport and Main Roads

Project Update & Additional Package:  Well done to the project team for reaching practical completion for all sites on this project apart from one remaining site with design issues in the Samford area. It is a real credit to the team managing many sites in challenging tight conditions which were so vastly spread (Kin Kin to Somerset to Esk to Mt Glorious)

TMR have redesigned this site and are currently in the final process of securing additional disaster recovery funding for SGQ to complete the works. The additional works involve reestablishment of an existing batter along a rural residential property boundary that has slipped/disappeared as a result of the February 2022 flood events.

The additional scope of works will include temporary access earthworks, soil nailing, reinforced shotcrete, rockfill, and gabion wall works to reestablish the original property boundary. The value of this additional works is estimated to be approximately $2.3mil. Works are due to commence in May and take the remainder of the year to complete.
