HEY – Are You OK?
Don’t be afraid to speak up. You’re not alone.
SGQ in conjunction with the MIC (Mates in Construction) held further Awareness sessions for suicide prevention on another two of our sites in May. The Bundy Boys took the opportunity to make it a combined breaky – throwing a couple of snags on the BBQ and having a sausage sizzle for breakfast.
One of the sessions were held on the Coral Cove site and the other at our Hervey Bay Doolong Road site. Both sites were well attended, with participation by SGQ staff, sub-contracting personnel and other client representatives. The feedback from both SGQ attendees and MIC Presenters was positive, and the message taken from the presentation is valuable to all involved.
It is an important factor to consider on our sites and in our industry – “The Black Dog” – Keep an eye on your work mates, check in on them frequently, ask “Are you OK”. SGQ maintain Employee Assistance Services to all Employees.
